Privacy Compliance Specialist

Candace is a San Francisco native, born and raised in the Bay Area. She is a proud “Double Bronco,” having graduated from Santa Clara University and Santa Clara University School of Law.

Working in both the public and private sector roles, she gained transactional contract experience. She also gained experience in drafting memoranda on various issues arising in the business arena, including entity formation, potential conflicts of interest, and the effects of changes in state legislation.

In 2021, Candace began exploring the legal field of privacy and data protection, which had always interested her. As of January 2024, she completed a 2-year Legal Fellowship Program at Golden Data Law Firm. She was compensated for the time and effort spent gaining real-life experience and expertise in privacy under the mentorship of the Founding Partner and Academic Development Partner. As the Inaugural Legal Fellow, Candace learned law relevant to the practice and acquired and implemented administrative, lawyering, and legal teamwork skills. As the fellowship progressed, she began taking on client meetings independently, drafting compliance documents, and managing contract negotiations. She also became certified in Information Privacy Management by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Candace is excited to have been promoted to a role as GDL's Privacy Compliance Specialist, and looks forward to contributing to the firm in her expanded capacity.
