Short Bio

Judith is a native Californian who graduated from UC Davis School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1981. She chose an unconventional career path that would allow her to raise a family while also making use of her legal education. She created a business that provides tutorial services and mentoring to students preparing for law school exams and the bar examination. In addition to teaching her students substantive law and effective writing techniques, Judith helps them acquire the skill set needed for successful navigation through law school, the bar examination, and beyond. Not only has her business kept her connected with the ever-evolving expectations of law school professors and the bar examiners, but she also served as a grader for the California bar examination for several years.

In the early years of her business, before she was teaching year-round, Judith became licensed as a Spanish-language California Court Interpreter. She worked as an interpreter for 17 years. During that time, she became a CIMCE-certified course provider so that she could help fellow court interpreters fulfill their continuing education requirements by learning basic legal concepts. She eventually retired from interpreting due to the increasing demands of her business.

Although Judith’s focus has been on private instruction, she has also taught substantive law and mentored students in other arenas. She was a professor at Lincoln Law School of San Jose for many years, creating and teaching writing courses focused on law school exams and the bar examination. As an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University School of Law, she created and taught a course called “Representing the Spanish-speaking Client”, which was taught in Spanish. She also trained students working at the school’s law clinic in the proper use of interpreters.

When Judith recently began winding down her business, she sought an opportunity to continue mentoring law students in a new role. She is looking forward to bringing her skills and experience to bear in facilitating Golden Data Law in the successful execution of its Legal Fellowship program.
